Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics
The Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics (CEDA) provides Quality Data Analytic Services to various Government Departments at all levels as well as to Public Sector Units at the Centre and in States. It was established in 2018, with a sole vision of kick-starting and fast-tracking the adoption of advanced analytic and machine learning capabilities within the Government. It helps various Government Departments to:
- Define their analytical needs
- Identify the data sets that are required to meet the analytical needs
- Determine access to the relevant data sources (both within as well as outside the Government)
- Build the required data analytic solutions
- Share the data in a secured manner
- Integrate departmental data silos and deliver an integrated whole-of government analytics for an integrated policy formulation
CEDA adopts a multi-pronged strategy to permeate a culture of data-driven governance and capacity-building in Government. It offers the following services to the Government:

Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Union Minister of Law & Justice, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), launched the Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics (CEDA) on 28th September 2018 in New Delhi. The ceremony was presided over by Shri S.S. Ahluwalia, Hon’ble Minister of State (E&IT), Shri Ajay Sawhney, Secretary (MeitY), Shri Pankaj Kumar, Additional Secretary (MeitY), Dr. Neeta Verma, Director General (NIC) Shri MK Mishra, Managing Director (NICSI) and several dignitaries from the government, industry and academia.
