  • Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, along with the NIC & STQC Directorate conducted an interactive Workshop for Web Information Managers of Ministries & Departments of Government of India. The main aim of the workshop was to deliberate, discuss and exchange experiences of best practices followed for maintaining the websites. Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, MeitY delivered the Keynote Address. He emphasized the need to have accessible government websites that prioritize user-friendliness and responsiveness.

  • Shri Rajesh Gera, Director General, NIC addressed the Web Information Managers (WIMs) Workshop in New Delhi. He talked about the Way forward in Whole-of-the-Government Approach. A whole-of-Govt approach is a centralized core framework for website creation and lifecycle management platform in compliance with the GIGW 3.0 and is envisaged to improve user interface, user experience, & responsiveness.

  • Ms. Jaya Dubey, Joint Secretary and Web Information Manager (WIM), Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India in her address at the Web Information Managers workshop spoke about the best practices adopted in managing the website of the Department.

  • Shri Piyush Goyal, Sr. Director (IT), NIC at the Web Information Managers workshop briefed on the purpose of Government websites. He also highlighted the role of a Web Information Manager (WIM) in managing Government websites.

  • Ms. A. Srija, Economic Advisor & WIM, Department of School Education & Literacy at the Web Information Managers workshop, gave a brief introduction about the website of the Department of School Education and Literacy.

  • Shri Shashi Kant Pandey, Director (IT), NIC demonstrated the Accessibility Testing & Reporting Tool for managing websites. He presented Sugamya Web – a modular system providing an end-to-end web testing platform hyper-focused on accessibility at low costs by reducing workload.

  • Shri A.K. Upadhyay, Scientist-G, STQC Directorate at the Workshop for WIMs emphasized Risk Mitigation as a crucial aspect of GIGW 3.0 and shared highlights from the global best practices & trends in technology and compliance. The 3rd version of Guidelines for Indian Government Websites and Apps (GIGW 3.0) has been released with a focus to improve security, quality, access, and utility.

  • Ms. Alka Misra, DDG, NIC at the WIMs workshop presented the Progress Update and Fortnight status of Govt websites. She highlighted the importance of GIGW compliance for Govt websites. She also spoke on quality parameters and certification of websites.

  • Shri Durga Prasad Misra, Senior Director (IT), demonstrated the Fortnightly Reporting Tool, at WIMs Workshop, in New Delhi. Fortnightly Reporting Tool has been developed for WIMs to report on a fortnightly basis on content updating, quality parameters, GIGW certification, and security best practices. pertaining to their websites. This data is shared with the Cabinet Secretariat on a fortnightly basis.
