Established in 1988, Bihar State Centre of NIC has been instrumental in bringing ICT culture in Bihar government. With a focus on building IT interfaces to facilitate citizen-friendly and transparent government, NIC has made significant contributions in improving service delivery by a number of departments including: Revenue, District administration, Rural Development, Finance, Agriculture, Employment, Elections, Social Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies, Courts, Others.
NIC Bihar State Centre along with its Cells in Patna and 38 districts are continually engaged to automate and accelerate eGovernance processes in close interaction with users of the departments. The Centre is providing its expertise in design, development and implementation of various ICT services to the state Government like iHRMS, Business First, eLabour, eChallan, one stop clearance system, GPMS (Govt. Property Management System), Vehicle Management System, Apada Disaster Management Portal, Medha Soft, Election, VAHAN, SARTHI, eCounseling etc.
Mini Cloud Data Centre has been set up at NKN premises in June 2019, with network speed 100 Mbps, storage capacity 429.36 TB, Memory Capacity 3.65 TB; CPU 1.2 THz.
