Chief Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir launched 3 online services by NIC for Revenue and Registration Departments. These are module for Downloading of Registered Documents, Aadhaar based authentication and Online Portal of Evacuee Property Service.
The feature of online downloading will facilitate the citizens to access the copy of registered document immediately post registration, without physically visiting the Sub Registrar Office. This will reduce the burden of officials & save the time and efforts of citizens.
Aadhaar based authentication in document registration will enable online identification of intending parties from the server of UIDAI and thereby put an end to the chances of fraud or impersonation and also exclude ‘benami’ transactions.
Evacuee Property Portal: https://jkcustodian.jk.gov.in contains a database of all the evacuee property of the UT, spread over 14 Lakh kanals. It also offers services such as e-auction of property, Issuance of NOCs, Change of use of property, Renewal of rent, transfer of allotment, etc.

Ladakh e-Gazette’ is a major initiative taken by the UT Administration and is an important step in making the UT a smart and a digital-friendly place. The portal is an initiative for publication of the gazette notifications of the Union Territory of Ladakh. All Parts, sectors and Sub-section of Ladakh Gazette are uploaded in the e-Gazette website by the concerned department which can be accessed free of cost by the general public being available in the public domain.
The portal was launched by Advisor to the LG, Ladakh through NIC Video Conferencing Service. He appreciated NIC’s efforts for developing the e-gazette software & adapting it for Ladakh.

Saboojsathi Online is the eGovernance mechanism of GoWB’s flagship program Saboojsathi (Green Companion) under which 85 lakh students have received bi-cycles. It has already won National eGovernance Award in 2018.

Testing of farm machines is important aspect of agricultural mechanization. Recognizing the importance of testing and evaluation of agricultural machinery and to improve services of testing institutions and bringing out transparency in the entire process of testing and evaluation of machines, a “Centralized Farm Machinery Performance Testing Portal” has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, GoI. This portal is in line with Government’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ policy.

The e-Challan system, consisting of an Android based Mobile App and a Web Interface, provides a comprehensive solution for Transport Enforcement Officers and Traffic Policemen. The system is integrated with Vahan and Sarathi applications and covers all major functionalities of Traffic Enforcement System. It also has a provision of sending SMS notice, with details of violation, to the violator.
Further, the e-Challan system is integrated with Virtual Court system.

E-meeting Portal is a smart meeting management system through which meetings in the Chief Minister’s Office and Secretariat can be implemented through IT. Attendance of officers participating in the meeting will be registered online. Panel wise details about VC Link, Date/Time were shared with applicants through NIC’s email, SMS and Web (ShalaDarpan User Login). Online Interview conducted for more than 3500 scrutinized staff.

National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) is a generic, flexible and cloud based computerized system of document registration, developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) with support from the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, GoI.
It is a web-enabled software application which has been deployed and hosted centrally in Jammu at the SDC as a J&K specific instance. The application is designed to be used by Sub Registrars, citizens, deed writers and senior level users from the Registration Department. NIC UP has developed online RTE portal for admission under Right To Education Act, under which guardian of Children belonging to destitute classes can apply online through the portal for seeking admission in leading private schools in nearby locations across the state. Total 88256 online applications were received on the portal from 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Out of the 71,203 verified applications, 47156 children were allotted schools through the online Lottery system using the portal.

While on the one hand all the labourers are registered on the portal, on the other hand, different employers are registered. Employers can select labourers as per their requirements. The labourers can also get their appointment letter through the portal.

The Haryana Udhyam Memorandum (HUM) portal will provide a unique identification number to all enterprises — shops, MSMEs, large and mega industries — to enable permissions and services from the government to be provided in an integrated manner.
The HUM portal will also enable registration of labour engaged by the enterprises, creating a database of all employees engaged in industrial enterprises in Haryana. This would would help the state government in formulating welfare policies.

In order to keep systematic record of all passengers arriving at Jammu railway station and to inform them about their COVID-19 test results, IT enabled solutions and mobile applications have been launched in Jammu. These applications are downloaded on handheld gadgets and mobile phones enabling officials to do their job at ease and with precision.
To streamline the response mechanism, SMS are sent to individuals on their mobile phones informing them about their COVID-19 test results. More than 75000 SMS have been pushed to individuals as on date through a customized software application as on date.

NIC Haryana has developed an online service on Service Delivery portal Antodaya Saral of Haryana (https://saralharyana.gov.in) for MSMEs to Raise Financing Related Grievances for Department of the Industries and Commerce (MSMEs), Haryana to facilitate various industries and MSMEs to capture their grievances regarding credit related challenges.

In an effort to bring the district administration a step closer to the common people and to enable the citizens to easily take an appointment to meet the Deputy Commissioner, ‘Swagatam’, an application software was launched by Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner in the presence of District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner and the District Informatics Officer, NIC and his team.
The application facilitates online registration, followed by selection of the appointment slot. The visitor will get an SMS alert on his mobile phone once the appointment is fixed.

Due to the covid-19 crisis, a new scheme “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY)” has been introduced for three months, effective April 2020, for free distribution of @5 Kg grains i.e. wheat/Rice per person and @1 Kg pulses per ration card per month to all NFSA card holders through 5.3 Lakh Fair Price Shops (FPS), during the lockdown period.

Department of Food and Public Distribution has launched IM-PDS scheme with the main components as National Portability, De-Duplication, creation of Central Repository and Data Analytics.
To achieve the above objectives, a central repository has been created by getting the Ration Card data of all the States and duplicate members based on aadhaar number have been identified. Web services have been developed for sharing of monthly data by States. The ration cards with duplicate member IDs are made ineligible for National portability.
NIC has developed a S/w to implement “One Nation – One Ration Card”, under IMPDS Scheme of Dept. of Food & Public Distribution to ensure that resident of a State can take ration from any other State in India.

Online portal for recruitment process of 69,000 Assistant Teachers of primary schools under Basic Education Board, Uttar Pradesh was launched on 18th May, 2020.
Total 1,46,060 candidates qualified for Teachers recruitment examination 2019 (ATR-19). NIC UP State unit developed the portal for choice filling of districts by eligible candidates and allocation of district on the basis of weightage of marks of educational qualification and marks obtained in ATR-19.

PRERNA software has been developed and implemented by NIC to provide better services to the registrant in the form of computerization of Sub Registrar Offices of Stamps & Registration Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
It is one stop citizen-centric electronic solution for all kinds of property registration with e-services like – market value assistance, auto valuation of Stamp Duty & Registration Fee, on demand generation of encumbrance certificate, on-spot registration, electronic storage of deeds, endorsement & printing of photographs, thumb impression, generation of index registers, Marriage Registration etc.
In view of COVID-19, following features have been added in PRERNA software :
• Online e-payment system to pay the Registration fee online has been developed and implemented successfully and made compulsory. This new system will not only restrict third party/manual handling of cash, but also automate and speed up the treasury payment.
• To visit the Sub Registrar offices for property registration, a prior appointment has been made compulsory. The software has been modified to get the online appointment after submitting the property registration form.
• PRERNA software has been redeployed with all precautionary instructions related to COVID 19 on front page of the website.

Portal offers six different types of services to the citizens for modification in Jamabandi content. The individual has to select a service and upload required document in pdf format. It has evolved as a robust platform facilitating tax payers & transporters for movement of consignments across the Country. More than 118 Crore eWay Bills were generated in FY2018-19 and FY2019-20.
eWay Bill is now integrated with NIC’s VAHAN application. The system facilitates the taxpayers & assists the officers in multiple ways. It also helps in monitoring the movement of essential commodities in lockdown period.

Hon’ble CM of Assam, launched ‘COVID Suraksha’, a Suite of Android Mobile & Web-based application, developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC), in Hojai.
It helps to monitor visits of ASHA workers to Home Quarantined persons & also ensure their regular medical check-ups, via QR code scan. The concerned Officials of the District Administration can view the visit status of ASHA workers in a web dashboard. The application will be replicated in all the districts.

‘Covid-19 Jagratha’, is a comprehensive Information & Management portal for surveillance, care & support for the people affected/quarantined by COVID-19 in Kerala.
This portal is developed by NIC and is implemented in all 14 Districts of the State.
The portal is a one stop platform to avail information on COVID19 with daily monitoring & recording of data and generating surveillance reports also. People can apply for medical-aids, ambulance, vehicle permits, volunteers pass & clinical categorization etc.

NIC developed ‘Shram Seva Portal’ for ‘Madhya Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board’ was used by Hon’ble Chief Minister, MP to release DBT/e-Payment of relief amount of Rs. 88.50 Crores to 8.85 lakh workers.
Chief Minister Sh. Shivraj Singh Chouchan affected the e-Payment by Single click from his Mantralaya office. Timely financial assistance will help the workers to sustain the COVID-19 ‘Stay at Home’ period.

NIC Maharashtra developed an ‘ePass System’ for generating epasses for movement of vehicles during the COVID-19 ‘Stay at Home’ duration. The system developed using NIC’s ServicePlus framework has been made operational in all 50 RTOs across Maharashtra. This was achieved within a short duration of 36 hrs.
The ePass system is a generic system and can be deployed in any State within few hrs.

Mr. Justice Rajnesh Oswal was sworn in as a permanent judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on 2nd of April 2020. He was administered the oath of office by the Chief Justice Gita Mittal.
The oath ceremony was Webcast live – with the help of NIC – on the Internet for the legal fraternity and general public- again a first in the history of Indian Judiciary.
Using NIC Video Conferencing service, other Judges of the High Court joined the oath ceremony from their residences along with the Advocate General, the Asstt. Solicitor General, President Bar Association and the Administrative Secretary Law & Justice – a first in the history of the Indian Judiciary.

The Government of India today launched a mobile app developed in public-private partnership to bring the people of India together in a resolute fight against COVID-19.
Once installed in a smart phone through an easy and user-friendly process, the app detects other devices with AarogyaSetu installed that come in the proximity of that phone. The App will help the Government take necessary timely steps for assessing risk of spread of COVID-19 infection, and ensuring isolation where required.
The App’s design ensures privacy-first. The personal data collected by the App is encrypted using stateof-the-art technology and stays secure on the phone till it is needed for facilitating medical intervention. It is available in 11 languages.

The App, called ‘AarogyaSetu’ joins Digital India for the health and well-being of every Indian. It will enable people to assess themselves the risk for their catching the Corona Virus infection. It will calculate this based on their interaction with others, using cutting edge Bluetooth technology, algorithms and artificial intelligence.

National Informatics Centre developed ‘ePass’ system facilitates online passes for movement of vehicles used for essential services during lockdown in UT Puducherry. The system is developed as a centralized application and implemented across UT.
The main features are: applying for the vehicle pass from anywhere, approval by the designated authority, authorization by the SDM, generation of the ePass and making it available to the applicant for downloading.

National Informatics Centre (NIC) developed ‘eMulakat’, a module under ePrisons application suite, is enabling meeting of prisoners with their visitors via NIC’s Video Conferencing Service. This has reduced movement of visitors to prisons and minimized the risk of getting infected in the view of COVID-19.

The Public Financial Management System (PFMS) team provided round the clock assistance for facilitating smooth functioning of the financial machinery of the Government of India during the 21 days stay at home duration because of COVID-19.
PFMS achieved a major milestone recording the highest number of transactions in a single day on 30th March, 2020 of 2.19 crore transactions, breaching the earlier mark of 98.19 lakh set on 28th March 2018, by a very big margin.
PFMS also breached the figure of 100 Crore transactions in a financial year on 30th Mar, 2020, a quantum leap of more than 55% over last fiscal 2018-2019 transactions of 69.69 Crore.

A website for Lifeline Udan flights has been developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and MoCA in a record span of three days to enable seamless coordination between various agencies for operating cargo flights for transportation of COVID-19 related medical equipments.
The website allows state governments and airlines to upload their consignment and flight details respectively, in advance. The aviation ministry control room then assigns the cargo consignments to different flights and coordinates with multiple stakeholders till the consignment reaches its destination.
Unique features of the website are:

2. Upload/Edit/Delete flight and consignment details
3. Auto fill form from previous records
4. Sorting and searching of tabular data.

Meghalaya’s CoVID-19 Transmission chain Prevention system (http://meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid) enables the residents of Meghalaya with a travel history outside state, to register themselves.
This facilitates Health Department and District Surveillance Team members to reach out to registered individuals through the automated IVRS calls to capture their health status, especially COVID-19 symptoms, for updation in the portal and also give them proper advisories.
The Portal also provides information related to COVID-19 Notifications issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Transport Department, Deputy Commissioners, Tourism etc., and information related to Quarantine Centres in the State, Key contacts, FAQs etc.

NIC used ServicePlus framework for developing an online workflow based system for generating curfew ePasses for the movement of vehicles for essential services like Government duty, hospitalization etc during lockdown period.
The main features of the system are – Online application for vehicle pass, Approval by the designated authority, Generating SMS/email alerts to the applicant, Downloading of the digitally signed epass by the applicant, Signing, etc. The ePass also contains QR Code which can be used to verify the authenticity of the ePass.
This system is being used across Meghalaya, Assam, Karnataka, Haryana, Kerala and Chandigarh.

The Hon’ble Minister of State(I/C) for Power and New and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri R K Singh launched the new website of MNRE & Akshay Urja Portal, on 13th March 2020. The Akshay Urja Portal is enabled with NIC’s Bharat Maps – Multilayer GIS platform, which is being used for navigation purpose.
The portal is a single source of information for state-wise monthly capacity, generation and potential w.r.t., solar, wind, small hydro, bio energy & waste-to-energy, and off-grid components like Street Lighting System, Home Lighting System, Solar Lanterns, Solar Pumps.

NIC developed ‘Ente Jilla’ mobile app was launched by Shri. S Suhas IAS, District Collector, Ernakulam on 29th February 2020, at District Collectorate, Ernakulam. NIC Ernakulam District Officials demonstrated and briefed about the key features of the mobile app at the event.
‘EnteJilla’ is an initiative of NIC Kerala to make information about each district in Kerala available through a mobile app, where users can select any district of the State to proceed further. The App also provides facility to change the District while in use, and also, rate and review an office based on the services received from it. The reviews and consolidated ratings is visible in the App and can be monitored by the respective District Collector.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat launched e-Challan system for Police Department, Uttarakhand on 29.02.2020.
The e-Challan system is developed by National informatics Centre. It have been installed & configured on around 1200 hand-held devices procured by Police Department in collaboration with SBI. The SIM based integrated devices provide facilities for doing on-the-spot challan, printing of challan receipts and online payments through Debit/credit cards. The system is integrated with ‘VAHAN 4 portal’, which is already implemented in entire Uttarakhand.
Shri Anil Raturi, Director General of Police, Uttarakhand and Shri Kewal Khurana, IPS & Director Traffic Police briefed about key features of the e-Challan system and appreciated role of NIC Uttarakhand in implementing the system in entire State in one go.

Hon’ble Transport Minister of Bihar, Shri Santosh Kumar Nirala, inaugurated ‘e-Challan’ through Hand-Held Device and ‘Online Test for Learner License’, in the State. Through the eChallan, instant Challan will be issued to the traffic rule violators across all districts of Bihar. The online test will help in increasing the knowledge about traffic rules and bring transparency in the process of issuing driving licenses in the State.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare & Panchayati Raj, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar launched ‘GeoRurban’ Mobile App, on 24th February, 2020 at International Ambedkar Centre, Janpath, New Delhi. The mobile app is designed and developed by National Informatics Centre, for monitoring physical progress of the works under Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission. This portal enables geo-tagging of the images captured for getting a real time physical status of a work.
The event was attended by all the officials and PRI members directly linked to the 300 clusters of the country under SPMRM. The Secretary, Rural Development Sh. Rajesh Bhushan, Spl. Secretary Sh. Prashant Kumar, Jt. Secretary(SPMRM) Sh. Biswajeet Banerjee and other officials from the Ministry graced the occasion.

DG NIC reviewed major projects under development at NIC Tamil Nadu. A demo of e-Auction portal was made and she advised that e-Auction should be developed as a separate product and given to all the State Governments for implementation.
On 25 February 2020, DG & team met Shri S.K Prabakar, IAS, Home Secretary & Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Tamil Nadu to discuss the new initiatives to be undertaken in the State. She also requested Home Secretary to send a team of officers to study the automated capturing of Signal violations and issuing eChallan.

The website of ‘Odisha State Legal Services Authority (OSLSA)’, designed, developed and hosted by NIC was inaugurated by Hon’ble Kumari Justice Sanju Panda, Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and Executive Chairperson of Odisha State legal Services Authority, on February 17, 2020 at OSLSA, Cuttack, Odisha.
The website provides information about free legal services provided by OSLSA to the weaker sections of the community ensuring that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities. The website also provides information on Panel Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers, Nyaya Sanjog etc. Role based authentication of District Legal Service Authority within the CMS will enable the officials to manage the content by themselves.
During the event, Smt. Pratibha Singh, DDG and SIO, NIC, Odisha gave a detailed presentation of the website and its features. Efforts made by NIC were appreciated by Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice. The Member Secretary of OSLSA, officers of OSLSA, NIC and NICSI were present on the occasion.

NIC Uttarakhand designed & developed ‘Jageshwar Mandir Prabandhan Samiti (Trust) portal’ was inaugurated by Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, on 19th February 2020 at Bageshwar, Uttarakhand. The portal facilitates online services to pilgrims visiting Jageshwar such as online donation, Puja, Path, Bhog, Bhandara etc.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat said MyGov Uttarakhand portal will go a long way in strengthening public participation in the governance process. Hon’ble Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated the ‘Programme Management Information System (PMIS)’ of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), in the presence of Shri Lahkmen Rymbui, Hon’ble Minster of Education, Government of Meghalaya, on 14 February 2020, at North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
PMIS is a software application developed by NIC Meghalaya using open source technologies. It provides Management information Support to the Regional Training Institutes under the NCERT.
NCERT conducts programmes for teachers, teacher-educators, researchers, students and also other stakeholders in school education. These programmes include training, development, research, seminar/conferences and several extension programmes. The PMIS will keep record of these programmes, and it also allows interactions between the participants and programme coordinators.

Hon’ble Revenue Minister, Tripura, Shri N.C. Debbarma launched ‘Online Land Valuation and Integration with Property Registration’, for Revenue Department, Govt. of Tripura on 15 February 2020.
To automate the processes of Land Records & Registration in Tripura, Revenue Department in association with NIC, Agartala has developed ‘Land valuation software’ and integrated it with ‘Land Registration’. It facilitates citizens to online calculate document registration fees and e-Stamp etc. Also the applicant can pay the fees using eGRAS, Net Banking, Credit Card and Debit Card.
This will bring transparency in the Sub Registrar Office and will reduce the time & dependency for calculation of Registration and other fees for document registration.
The software is developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) Agartala, and hosted at cloud infrastructure of State Data Centre, DIT, Agartala.

It enables citizens to report any kind of crime to HP Police without disclosing their identity. The citizens have an option to disclose their name and mobile number, in which case, they will be informed of the action taken by the HP Police.

National Informatics Centre (NIC) signed MoU with Government of Maharashtra on e-Governance project ‘eHRMS’. NIC will customise the eHRMS software as per the requirements of Government of Maharashtra. The Software shall be implemented in 30 State Government Departments in all 36 Districts and up to Block level covering approximately 6 lakh Government employees.
The Memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed among GAD, NIC, NICSI and MahaIT on 10th January 2020.
Duration of the Project is five years; initial two years are for Study, Customization, Development, Training and Implementation. Subsequent 3 years is for software maintenance. NIC Maharashtra expresses its gratitude to DG NIC, Maharashtra State Co-ordinator, Legal Division and eHRMS Division for continuous support.

Hon’ble Minister for Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Pralhad Joshi, launched NIC developed online portal ‘Star Rating of Coal Mines’, on 10th February, 2020 at Parliament House Annexe.
The portal will work as a tool to promote green, safe & sustainable coal mining practices in the country. All coal companies will upload the information and all processing and evaluation of information will be online. The portal will provide a login to each coal mine for self-evaluation along with necessary documents for testimonials. The field offices of CCO will be provided a separate login to the web portal through which they can access the submissions of self-evaluation. A validation committee constituted through CCO will put the final remarks based on the laid down policy and finally the star rating will be recorded on the portal.

NIC developed e-office has been inaugurated for Jagatsinghpur Collectorate at Sadbhavana Gruha, Odisha, on January 31, 2020. The inauguration was done by Shri Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, OAS (SAG), Collector and District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur in the presence of Shri Bibhu Prasad Mishra, STD & Group Head, NIC, Odisha State Centre, Bhubaneswar and other district level Officials.
The e-Office will facilitate movement of all files and communications to and fro, from the Collectorate online. Appreciating the support of NIC, Shri Mohapatra praised the efforts of Shri. Jyoti Prakash Behera, DIO, NIC, Shri Sujit Kumar BIswal, ADIO, NIC and Shri Aurobinda Acharya, DeGM for their team’s determinations.

NIC developed ‘Pehchan’ portal of Rajasthan has been integrated with Digilocker wallet. The online portal is used for registration of Birth, Death and Marriage certificates across the State. It enables the citizens to fetch and store their digital certificates in their DigiLocker wallet.

NIC developed web portal ‘Back-to-Village programme’ launched in Anantnag, J&K, by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Sh. Khalid Jahangir, KAS on 3 Feb 2020.
The online portal monitors demands/works under ‘Back-to-Village programme’ at District/Block/Panchayat/Village/Department level in the Union Territory. Anantnag has become the first district in JK to launch such an e-governance initiative.

The ‘Online Bus Reservation Monitoring System (OBRMS)’, ‘CTU Musafir App’ and ‘CTU Conductor App’ of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU), Chandigarh Administration were launched by Dr Ajay Kumar Singla, IAS, Secretary Transport, UT Chandigarh on 27th January 2020.
The OBRMS application and the Android based Apps, “CTU Musafir” and “CTU Conductor” have been developed by National Informatics Centre, Uttarakhand State Unit and customised for Chandigarh Transport Undertaking as per the requirements given. The efforts were applauded by Secretary Transport and acknowledged by presenting NIC Uttarakhand team with a memento.
Now, the bus tickets can be booked at web portal http://ctuonline.chd.gov.in and through “CTU Musafir Mobile App”, 10 days in advance and one hour before schedule date and time of departure. Travellers will also be able to track the bus, give their feedback and register grievance. The application is integrated with eMail and SMS Gateway for the convenience of users.

NIC State/UT Centre and district centers play a major role on regular basis in the election process. Hon’ble Minister also appreciated NIC’s efforts for implementing e-Mantrimandal (eCabinet) project. For implementation, rounds of trainings were organized for all stake holders including Hon’ble Chief Minister, Ministers and Secretaries.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Shri Biplab Kumar Deb, launched the e-Services of all Urban Local bodies in the State through Common Service Centre (CSC).
The application is designed and developed by NIC, Tripura State Centre. The e-Services are integrated with the CSC services under Digital Seva portal. This will facilitate the citizen to avail the eGov services offered by the Urban Development Department in Tripura.

Hon’ble Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Civil Aviation and MoS Commerce & Industry, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, launched the Biometric enabled Centralised Access Control System (CACS) and ‘e-BCAS Project Training Module’on 30 December 2019, in New Delhi.
These two projects are designed and developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC), and are important milestones to enhance security and ease of doing business at airports.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Civil aviation (MoCA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and officials from National Informatics Centre (NIC) were present on the occasion.
NIC developed CACS project is aimed to digitize the employee movement process at the airports. This multi-layered security system encompasses the uniqueness of the Airport Entry Permit (AEP)users, biometric authentication in addition to PIN-based identity verification through contactless smart card technology, which manages access of personnel along with RFID based automated vehicle access control system according to the region, terminal, zone, and gate access privileges. CACS project is bound to assist around 2 Lakhs employees of various stakeholders who move in & out of the airport on a daily basis.
The ‘e-BCAS Project: Training Module’aimed at helping more than 1.5 lac employees of various stakeholders by migrating from manual process of training to digital platform.The objective of the e-BCAS project is to make all the activities in the BCAS transparent, user-friendly, and efficient and above all, the project intends to provide an ease of doing business with the stakeholders.

On the occasion of Good Governance Day, Hon’ble Chief Minister Haryana launched NIC developed 5 e-initiatives, at PGCIL MP Hall Gurugram on 25th December 2019, in the presence of Principal Secretary (DITECH) along with various dignitaries like Ministers, Member of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assemblies, Mayors, Deputy Commissioners connected through NIC’s video conferencing service.
Hon’ble CM launched the following e-initiatives developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC):
1. 22 District Websites – District websites of 22 districts launched which were revamped using Secure, Scalable and Sugamya (S3WAAS) platform of NIC. All district websites of Haryana on S3WAAS are now Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliant and bi-lingual, providing contents in English as well as in Hindi. All websites have an inbuilt content management system which enables nodal officers to easily manage and update the contents on respective website.
2. Web-HALRIS is a web-enabled integrated solution for deed registration and land records management. This portal is integrated with 91 Tehsils of Haryana and provides facilities related to Deed Registration, Mutation, Jamabandi, Khasra Gridawari, issuing the copies of Record of Rights and integration with internal and external entities like e-GRAS, Town and country planning and HSIIDC etc.
3. Digital Map of Sirsi Village – Pilot Project under HaLRMP State Government is implementing the Cadastral mapping project jointly with Survey of India. The Survey of India has started the Large Scale GIS mapping of entire Rural, Urban and Abadi Deh areas. The pilot project at Sirsi village of Karnal has been completed and launched.
4. Lokayukta Portal – The Lokayukta porrtal helps to generate a feeling of assurance among the public at large providing a mechanism to fall back upon when faced with corrupt public servants. The Lokayukta Portal has following features: • Acceptance and marking of Complaint/ Grievances • Enquiry and Disposal of complaints • Finalization of complaints • Daily Cause lists and Monitoring of Reports etc.
5. SARAL Portal – SARAL is a unified platform to apply, track and deliver Government-to-Citizen (G2C) Services/ Schemes across the state. The portal has transformed service delivery in Haryana in a systemic manner. In the last one year 30 new services have been rolled out and 12 more services were launched on this event, taking the total number of services on the portal to 526 services/ schemes. These schemes and services pertaining to the 38 departments, boards and corporations are being provided to the citizens through more than 6000 Atal Seva Kendras and 115 Antyodaya Kendras throughout 22 districts of the State.

Hon’ble Transport Minister, Arunachal Pradesh launched NIC developed ‘e-Ticketing’ web portal in the State. It facilitates online ticket booking for various state transport services, and also provides helpdesk service to the users.
Hon’ble Minister emphasized to strengthen the Network Connectivity and ICT Infrastructure in all district Headquarters of the State to reap the actual benefits of going online for e-Ticketing. He also booked the first ticket for the route Itanagar to Shillong through this web-portal.
Hon’ble Minister congratulated the entire team of NIC-Uttarakhand who has developed the e-Ticketing web portal in collaboration with NIC- Arunachal Pradesh. The Web-Portal has been developed by the team led by Shri Arun Sharma, PSA from NIC-Uttarakhand.

‘Mizoram Safety’ App is an android based mobile application for the people and tourist in Mizoram to use in times of emergency. It has various features such as Map of Mizoram with real-time location of the user in Blue pointer and Police station in Red pointer, also name and address of the officer-in-charge of the police stations in Mizoram.
The app has a dedicated button to contact the nearest police station. The app also has a special feature – a dedicated “SOS” button to instantly call the State Emergency Response Centre. Users have to register themselves with Name, Address and a valid phone number with OTP authentication.
The mobile app is developed by NIC Mizoram with the help of State Police and is freely available in Google Play Store.

Government of Tamil Nadu has rolled out ‘e-Sanad’ from 16th December 2019. The manual submission of applications is not entertained for attestations by the Public Department from 16th December onwards.
e-Sanad is an online portal, which aims at contact less, cashless and paperless attestation services, including (i) the Portal for online application, payment and document upload and (ii) Integration with digital repositories of Document Issuing Authorities, State General Administration Departments, Digital lockers or any other repositories of Ministries/Departments, for the purpose of verification by Ministry of External Affairs.

Hon’ble Governor, Uttar Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel launched NIC developed portal ‘U.P. Sainik Punarwas Nidhi’, on 7th December 2019 commemorating the Army Flag Day. The portal provides information on various schemes run by the Sainik Punarwas Nidhi for Ex-Servicemen and their families, and enables them to apply for these schemes online.
The complete backend process has been automated and SMS services have been integrated at each action point to keep the applicant status of his/ her application. Application trail along with action taken by different authorities is also displayed at all levels to infuse transparency in the system. The families of Ex-servicemen will now find it much easier to avail the benefits of the schemes being run by the Sainik Punarwas Nidhi, Lucknow.

NIC developed portal for Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Scheme, an initiative of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), awarded with IDC Insights Awards 2019, in Delhi. The scheme provides skill development training & linkages with livelihood opportunities for the underprivileged youths of marginalized sections of the society. The training is provided in non-formal sector to rural and urban slums with academic and technical support to its target group. The vocational courses help youths to earn livelihood either by getting employed or by starting their own enterprise.

The President of India launched NIC developed Web-Portal of “National Youth Parliament Scheme” in the august presence of the Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Speaker Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Pralhad Joshi during the special session of Parliament to commemorate 70th Constitution Day, in New Delhi on November 26, 2019.
The web-portal of National Youth Parliament Scheme is available at www.nyps.mpa.gov.in. The main objective of the portal is to increase the outreach of the youth parliament programme of the Ministry to hitherto untouched sections and corners of the country.
The salient features of the portal:-
• All recognised educational institutions of the country are eligible to participate in this programme.
• E-training modules, videos, photographs and scripts are available on the portal for online self-learning of the participants.
• Each student taking part in the sitting will get a Digital ‘Certificate of Participation’ and each Teacher-in-charge and Head of Institution will get a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ through the web portal.

The inaugural event was held in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on 25th November 2019. Hon’ble Housing Minister Md. Akbar, Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, IT, Ms. Sangeetha P, Secretary, Housing and Environment, Mr. Dilip, Kumar Debnath, SIO, Mr. P. Rama Rao, Senior Technical Director and Mr. Rishi K. Rai, Scientist-B, NIC Chhattisgarh and officials of other departments were present at the event.
The work flow of Online Single Window Colonizer Approval of Residential Colonies is hosted on the generic Service Plus platform under the guidance of Shri D.C. Misra, DDG, Ms. Manie Khaneja, STD and Shri Adesh Gupta, TD and Service Plus team. This single window system will enable issue of Land Diversion Certificates, Approved Documents and Permission for Colony Development within limited time-frame.
It will make the entire process of getting approval for residential colonies simple, easily accessible and transparent. All the documents can be submitted online through the single window, after which development permission will be issued within 100-140 days. The concerned departments will also issue No Objection Certificates from this single window system. Applicants will be able to track the status of their application online and get alerts through SMS.

The eOffice Suite is a digital workspace solution for government offices that paves the way for making both inter & intra government processes paperless.
Health & Family welfare department, Manipur is the first Department in the state to implement eOffice. Hon’ble Minister encouraged the officials & staff to use eOffice to deliver good public services. This digital initiative will curb various issues related to manual file processing.

This integrated mobile application is developed by National Informatics Centre for Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change in the State.
A number of Mobile Apps implemented for monitoring and management of departmental activities viz. ePlantations, eNursery, eForestry, eMandi, eWildLife, eForestOffence, Human Resource Management System etc. for Plantations, Nurseries, Distribution of plants and open platforms for buying & selling of produce, Wildlife, Forest Offence and Human Resource Management System respectively.
‘VanApp’ is developed to eliminate the difficulties of managing & monitoring these activities through different apps. It provides an integrated platform for monitoring departmental activities and provides MIS & spatial data/reports using integrated Web & GIS technologies.

The e-commerce portal with multidimensional features will boost the expansion of Goalpara’s rural business by providing an opportunity for rural brands to flourish through the virtual store. It will provide access to the global market and thereby create job opportunities for small-time
craftsmen, women, etc.

The 6th edition of ‘Data Centre India 2019 – International Conference’ was held on 20th November 2019 at Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi.
It offered a 360 degree view of upcoming trends in data centre infrastructure and highlighted the importance of various aspects of Next Generation data centres & Virtual Cloud based Data Centres. It was a dynamic forum for senior executives of leading enterprises to understand and formulate strategies to enhance their data centre infrastructure in line with business needs.

National Informatics Centre is the technology partner to Ministry of Home Affairs, for design, development and implementation of online registration portal (https://prakashpurb550.mha.gov.in/), network setup at Integrated Check Post (ICP) and Immigration clearance system for the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor project.
The NIC-IVFRT team developed online registration portal for the pilgrims was launched on October 24 2019, wherein pilgrims can register themselves online and exercise the choice to travel on any day. After successful registration, pilgrims will be informed by SMS and email for the confirmation of registration.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Integrated Check Post on November 9, 2019 and flagged off first batch of pilgrims at Kartarpur Sahib Corridor in Gurdaspur, Punjab. He took a guided tour of the Passenger Terminal setup prior to the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor.
The project has been implemented by NIC in a record time and within the deadline of inauguration by Hon’ble Prime Minister. The entire network infrastructure and immigration control system at Dera Baba Nanak ICP has been setup with operationalisation of 56 Immigration counters. A total of 562 pilgrims were part of the first ‘jatha’ who visited Gurdwara Darbar Sahib on the first day of the pilgrimage. Commissioner, Bureau of Immigration appreciated the team for successful delivery of the project.

The Ration Card Management System, developed by NIC Kerala was awarded the Government of Kerala ‘Award of Recognition’ by Shri. Thilothaman P, Hon’ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Government of Kerala, on 02nd November 2019 at Ernakulam, Kerala.
The Ration Card Management System is one of the five major components of end-to-end computerization of the Public Distribution System. The digitization of beneficiary data in the State was completed in 2016 and presently, there are approximately 86 lakh ration cards. The ration cards were categorized into four types using the Ranking software, which was developed and implemented by NIC Kerala.

Shri Iqbal Hasan, SIO Delhi State Unit was conferred an award, at International Conference on Educational Reforms and Good Governance in Delhi, for NIC’s contribution in e-Governance initiatives . The conference was organized by International Organization for Education Development (IOED) on 18th October 2019 at India International Centre New Delhi.
IOED is a specialized, internationally accredited Permanent Diplomatic Mission which is duly recognized and approved by the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India. It has a special extraterritorial status like the United Nations and its agencies. The IOED has been working on the Diplomatic Relations with Sovereign Nations, Educational Development (Research and Training), Cultural Relationships and Economic Cooperation.

Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development & Agriculture launched ‘Gram Manchitra’ at National Panchayat Awards 2019 in New Delhi. Gram Manchitra is a Spatial Planning Application developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The application based on NIC’s Multilayer GIS platform Bharatmaps, is a Geo Spatial based decision support system for the panchayats. The panchayats can utilize this application to plan, develop and monitor developmental activities on real time basis.

A 2-days National Scholarship Portal workshop for NIC State Coordinators was organized at NIC Hqrs. on 21st-22nd October 2019. The workshop had participation of NIC officials from 26 States & 6 UTs. Dr. Neeta Verma, DG, NIC, addressed the officials by acknowledging their contributions for the scholarship portal and conveying the future roadmap for scholarship ecosystem throughout the country.
Shri S.B. Singh, HoG & DDG, NIC also emphasized that this is a good opportunity for NIC and its officials to serve the bottom of the pyramid and shape the future of the country. The easy availability of scholarships would also lead to increase in literacy rate of the country. The workshop included Sessions by NIC officials – Smt. Suman Gera on Aadhaar related services, Shri Saba Akhtar on UDISE+ and Smt. Sandhya Rani on AISHE.

The online leave module of Manav Sampada-the Human Resource Management Solution (HRMS), a product of NIC was launched by Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli in Hailakandi District of Assam on 16.10.2019.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sri. Omar Sherif will look after leave related matters of the Circle Officers and their respective offices. The employee will need to apply for leaves online using Manav Sampada Mobile app or website which will directed to the reporting officer for approval. Each employee has been allotted a log in ID and password. Training cum demonstration has been given to the employees for online submission of leave application.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is set to implement the eOffice (Lite) in all its associated offices. A 3 days’ workshop cum training programme (from 23rd-25th September 2019) was organized at AKTU campus for capacity building of its officers/staff by NIC eOffice Team. More than 150 officers and employees participated in the training program. A hands-on training on eOffice modules was also organized for the trainees.
NIC UP team has created the e-Office instance for 120 users. The project is being implemented in the university by Mr. A. P. Singh, Scientist-F and ASIO, Mr. Iftekhar Ahmed, Scientist-E, Mr. Parwaiz Islam Scientist-E and team.
Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice Chancellor of the University has directed his staff to discontinue physical files and start sending only e-Files from 1st October 2019. Instructions were also given to convert all the physical files to electronic files by November 2019.

5th e-Government Procurement Conference of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network held at ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines on 1-2 October 2019 . The focus of the conference was on Emerging Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) Technologies and Innovation, and Regional Trends and Country Systems Experiences.
Asian Development Bank (ADB) invited NIC to share their experience on the widespread implementation of Government eProcurement and deliver a lecture on ‘Integrating Installations in a National System: The GePNIC Experience’.
As NIC eGP system has wide spread implementation across the country, the participants were very keen to discuss and learn from NIC’s success as well as the challenges faced in this area, specifically those countries that are trying to similarly integrate eGP sub-systems.

Shri Pige Ligu, Deputy Commissioner, Papum Pare District launched the e-Services portal (http://eservice.arunachal.gov.in/) of Government of Arunachal Pradesh, in the presence of all the administrative officers of the District headquarter on 1st October 2019.
The Deputy Commissioner in his address mentioned that the portal would make it convenient for an applicant to apply for government services anytime and anywhere, and maintain the authenticity of the issued document(s). He praised NIC Yupia for providing support to District Administration for implementing e-Services portal, which has been developed using the ServicePlus framework of NIC, in the district.
Henceforth, all the services such as Schedule Tribe, Permanent Residential Certificate, Character Certificate, Income Certificate, Dependent Certificate etc. which are available in the portal shall be issued online only.

Hon’ble MoS, Home Affairs Shri. G. Kishan Reddy launched the Unified Portal for Licensing of Eating / Lodging Establishments in Delhi on 01/10/2019 in the august presence of the Chief Secretary Delhi State, Commissioner of Police, Delhi and Additional Secretary (UT), MHA and DG(NIC).
The Unified Portal is a single window system for applying license for eating or lodging establishments in Delhi. The application so submitted can be processed by all agencies (Delhi Police, MCDs/NDMC, Fire, Delhi Pollution Control Board etc.,) individually and simultaneously. This application has the provision for inter-dialogue box for faster processing. The licenses/NOC issued by all agencies can be downloaded from the portal.
Addressing the gathering, Minister of States (Home) Shri Reddy said, “This single window clearance system has been developed under Digital India programme to facilitate people to obtain licenses to open their eatery/lodging businesses in Delhi. This would be an integrated, transparent and seamless system for providing licenses on a time bound manner. Such a people-friendly system would prevent corruption and increase compliance with rules and regulations by all stakeholders”.
The Unified Portal aims at simplifying and rationalizing the regulatory processes (registration & inspection), infusion of transparency and avoids procedural delays in getting statutory clearances from various authorities and real time receipt of application by all agencies simultaneously.

Agriculture Informatics Division of NIC has developed a multi-lingual Mobile App for Custom Hiring Centres for hiring of farm machineries by the farmers – CHC Farm Machinery App for Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. This app connects the farmers with Custom Hiring Service Centres in their area to provide Agricultural Machinery on rental basis to the Farmers, especially small & marginal farmers who cannot afford to buy the high value machinery & equipments.
The App was launched by Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on 24 September 2019 at New Delhi. “Farmers will now have easy access to high value and technical agricultural equipment’s at their doorstep” said the Minister while launching the ‘CHC Farm Machinery’ Mobile App.
The App is already available to custom service providers for registration and uploading with georeference photographs of agricultural machinery custom service centers and photographs of machinery and for registration of farmers. As data is captured through geotagging, the farmer can locate the nearest custom hiring center located in his vicinity between 5-50 km. The app can be downloaded on any android phone from Google Play Store.

Hon’ble Home Minister of India, Shri. Amit Shah, Launched the Private Security Agency Licensing Portal on 24th September 2019 where all security agencies can apply for new /renew Private Security Agency license to run their businesses, required under the Private Security Agencies Regulation Act 2005. The occasion was also graced by Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Home Secretary , Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Director General, NIC, Dr. Neeta Verma and Additional Secretary Home, Police Modernisation, Sh. Vivek Bharadwaj.
This portal makes license application and renewal process completely paperless. There is no need by the security agency directors and owners to visit the offices of the Controlling Authorities for submissions/ follow ups of their application for grant/renewal of their PSARA license. Security Company can apply online for a license in any State of India from any part of India. The agencies will be able to deposit license related fees online through the payment gateway.

A lecture on ‘Social Harmony’ was delivered by Shri Dipankar Shri Gyan, Director, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, on 26.09.2019 at NIC Hqrs., New Delhi. It was organized in continuation of events for the Commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary, launched by DG NIC in July this year. The event was broadcast over NIC Video Conferencing services and was attended by officers up to District level. It was also available through NIC webcast services.
In his lecture, Shri Dipankar Shri Gyan talked about communal harmony and said that it does not mean harmony between two religions. He spoke briefly on Gandhi Ji’s thoughts on communal harmony. He explained, Gandhi Ji believed that all countrymen are children of one mother, however they can be diversified on different factors such as religion, economic conditions, political commitments, cast or color etc., These separate thought process gives birth to three negativities, i.e., Fear, Suspicion and Hatred, and these things work against the communal harmony.
Gandhi Ji started his first experiment on communal harmony in South Africa, where he worked on uniting religions of Indian community and bringing them together to fight against racial discrimination, which was a common practice there. Shri Gyan further talked about Gandhi Ji’s deep understanding of all religions, where he identified that the basis of all religions is only one thing, which is ‘Truth’. Shri Gyan further highlighted different incidents of Gandhi Ji’s life and his different ways of bring communal harmony in the Indian society through various movements including Champaran, first movement where he brought together women as well.
The event was concluded with vote of thanks by DDG NIC Shri Inder Pal Singh Sethi.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur Shri N Biren Singh launched NGDRS (National Generic Document Registration System) on 16-09-2019 for Sub Registrar Office, Porompat, Imphal East. The function was held at Panchayat Bhawan, DC Office, Porompat, making it the second SRO of Manipur to implement NGDRS application for property registration.

Shri. Nilesh Cabaral Minister of Power, Environment, Non-Conventional Sources of Energy and Law & Judiciary, Govt. of Goa, inaugurated the ‘Goa Bio-Diversity Portal- BIOMIS System’, which consist of e-ABS (Access Benefit Sharing) and e-PBR (People Biodiversity Registers) functionalities, developed by NIC Kerala and implemented by NIC Goa. The function was presided by Dr. Pradeep Sarmokadam, Member Secretary, Goa Bio Diversity Board and attended by all Scientists and Experts from Bio-Diversity Board.
e-ABS is a work flow based system for obtaining approval for access to bio resources for commercial utilization by Indian citizens. e-PBR is a unique repository of information on Goa’s biodiversity. The BIOMIS Portal aims to facilitate and enable widespread participation by all citizens in contributing and accessing information on biodiversity, that benefits science and society, contributes to sustainable future and guide the development and use of this Portal. It is web enabled work flow based system which facilitates citizen to collect (decentralized), disseminate biodiversity data and generate PBR electronically.

Sri Naba Kisore Das, Hon’ble Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Odisha launched the Online Clinical Establishment Management System, developed by National Informatics Centre, Bhubaneswar on 7th September 2019, in presence of Dr. P.K. Meherda, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department.
Interacting with Media, Honorable Minister appreciated the effort taken by NIC team. The application developed by National Informatics Centre, Bhubaneswar under the guidance of Dr. Umakanta Satpathy, Joint Director, DMET led by technical members of NIC, Ms. Nirupama Mohapatra, STD and Sri Bivas Roy, STD is hosted in National Data Centre, Bhubaneswar. The application has been developed using Open Source Technology stack such as PHP (CakePHP Framework) and MySQL as database.
The main objective of this application is to bring transparency and resolve issues related to delay in issuance of necessary clearances for obtaining registration in the Clinical Establishment System. Nearly 1800 private hospitals and clinics will be benefited through this new system as they can able to apply and obtain No Objection Certificates (NOC) and other renewals without much hassle.

Presentations were also made by Secretaries In charge from the departments of Labour, Technical Education, Food, Tribal welfare, School Education and Social welfare on the challenges faced by them in implementing the DBT/PFMS. Ideas were explored for a plan of creating a social registry and data exchange platform.

A unique system for Geo-Tagging of houses, constructed under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G), was launched in Lakhimpur, Assam. The system has been implemented for the first time for the PMAY-G programme in India.

Pu K.Lalrinliana, Minister of State, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) launched the Electronic Point of Sales (ePoS) device at the Government’s Fair Price Shop (FPS), Zonuam, Aizawl. The same facility is expected to be installed in all the 149 FPS throughout Aizawl in this month. In addition, 1270 FPS in other parts of Mizoram are expected to be provided with ePoS as soon as possible. With this implementation, Mizoram has joined other states in the drive for ‘End to End Computerisation of Targeted PDS Operation’, a joint initiative of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and National Informatics Centre (NIC).
In his inaugural address, the Minister gave his assurance to the beneficiaries that this machine is a simple device that can be easily operated by users. Highlighting the importance of digitization of FPS, he said, “Rather than complicating the process of Public Distribution System (PDS) in FPS, this scheme is meant to ensure the real beneficiary get his exact quota of ration every time, to ensure transparency in the PDS, to reduce wastage and to contain unfair disposal of the surpluses which frequently cost the government, heavily”.
In addition, he reminded all the beneficiaries on the necessity of linking their Aadhaar and their Ration card in order to benefit through the PDS scheme, post the implementation of ePoS at FPS. The reports on administrative and technical functioning areas was given by Pu Robert C. Lalhmangaiha, Deputy Director, FCS&CA and PU Lallawmkima, Scientist -B, NIC-Mizoram, respectively. Hon’ble Governor Shri Satya Pal Malik (Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board) on Wednesday, 28th August 2019, appreciated the coordinated efforts made by the NIC J&K team for the smooth conduct of this year’s Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Governor felicitated NIC officers, Shri Abhay Kumar, SIO, J&K, Baiju Ubbott, Scientist ‘D’ and Sideshwar Bhagat, Scientist ‘B’ for developing an online application for registration of Yatris, scanning and tracking of permits using QR Code, during Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2019.
Besides registration, Yatris were provided online facility for making payment after going through a series of authentication processes, thereby enabling them to download their Yatra Permit with QR code. This permit is being scanned at various gates from Jammu to the Holy cave by J&K Police and CRPF personnel. This has enabled the Shrine Board administration to track the movement of Yatris along the Yatra route using web interface.

Sivasagar attained the status of being the first District in Assam to launch “e-office”.
E-office is a Mission Mode Project, developed and designed by National Informatics Centre (NIC).
The Upper Assam Divisional Commissioner Smt Julie Sonowal formally launched the e-office (e-file management system) at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar on August 31, 2019. She congratulated the district administration for the initiative in taking this giant step forward towards paperless system. “With the office of the Deputy Commissioner transitioning towards a complete electronic file management system, four more offices of the district, namely, office of the Superintendent of Police, office of the District Transport Officer, Agriculture office and Zila Parishad will also come under the e-office system”, she informed.
The Deputy Commissioner Dr S Lakshmanan said, “With the benefit of having zero maintenance cost, the system will not only provide full confidentiality of office files, but will also save us from the worries of space management”.
The occasion was also attended by Superintendent of Police Shri Amitava Sinha along with the officials and staff of the district administration, and has been reported in leading local newspapers such as the Assam Tribune and The Sentinel.
